I decided to present my images in black-and-white format to emphasise the contrast between what is man-made and what is organic or natural.

I played around with the exposure, contrast, highighlights, shadows, blacks, and whites adjustments in order to convey the concept that I wanted to put forward.

I studied black-and-white images and what makes a one effective and powerful. With the absence of colour, these images rely heavily on the contrast between black and white.

During the initial stage of figuring out what exactly my concept is going to be, I started taking photographs of plants and concrete captured in one frame. It then developed into something more as I walk around the city, my neighbourhood, and a place I frequent whilst thinking about what it means for nature and man to co-exist in the same world.
